I created this awesome “heavy metal” effect in Adobe Illustrator CS2 using a 2005 tutorial from Layers magazine. Because of that, unfortunately, there isn’t a way for me to share it with y’all unless I type it all out myself. It’s very detailed and requires basic navigation of the software, which I kind of didn’t have since honestly, I’m not as familiar with Illustrator as I am with Photoshop. Everything was explained well, though, and the process was a bit longer than I expected, but I love the result! Because of all the steps, I’m not sure I’ll ever have this effect memorized down pat, but at least it helped me get more familiar with Illustrator.
