I am moving to Austin (and I am still convinced that Dallas hates me)! Now, I really need a car since I’ve looked at the bus stops and scheduling, and it would be extremely inconvenient and tiring to take the bus to and from work–think a mile across hilly land in Texas weather, twice! I am currently working something out so that I can borrow a car until I can get my own. In the meantime, I’ve sort of worked out a budget using a lot of educated guess work. Here are two things I’ve learned while helping me budget for a car:

1. Cars should be half of your annual income.
2. Car payments shouldn’t exceed 12% of your net income.

Well, wish me luck in finding something soon! In the meantime, I’ll be cleaning, organizing, and packing. I’m excited about starting work next week. :)
