Cover Letter Format

I was just reading up on some stuff when I stumbled upon how to correctly format a cover letter. I guess I never really learned it since I do most of my cover lettersĀ  in the body of an email as opposed through an attachment or postal mail. Nevertheless, I thought I’d share it with y’all for future reference. Who knows when it may come in handy?

Your address goes in the top right.
Four lines down is the date.
Four more lines down is the contact person’s name and company name and address.
Then, the body of the cover letter concluded with Yours Sincerely.

I don’t remember the exact source that I found this, but I quickly Googled another for you all to read, which includes other cover letter essentials, here.

Simple Sewing Stitches

AshFantastic's Types of Stitches

The tacking stitch is the one I’ve always used when mending or sewing something simple, but since I’m in the process of making a stuffed animal/doll, I wanted to use a stronger stitch, so I learned the backstitch. I really like it so far and hope that it can withstand normal wear and tear for many years to come! The blanket stitch on the other hand looks kind of confusing. Haha! I’ll have to leave that one for another day…

Finally! It doesn’t seem so difficult, now…

Creating the Tilt-Shift Effect

Follow the Tilt Shift Photography tutorial here.

The tilt-shift effect is typically achieved using a special (and very expensive) tilt-shift lens. In this case, however, you can learn how to create the effect through good ol’ Photoshop. It’s a very quick effect to make, and thus, the tutorial is short but thorough. What this does is make what was photographed look like a miniature model. I haven’t had the chance to take a good elevated-viewpoint photo to try this on, but I was too impatient so I used the best photo I could find in my existing repertoire.

Tilt-Shift Effect

Okay, okay–I know this is a stretch and thus a horrible example to show off this effect, but ah well! Don’t ever look at my examples, anyway. Usually, the actual examples from the tutorials are far better since I just make do with what I have.
